Overview
Mesenteric adenitis describes right lower quadrant pain due to inflamed abdominal lymph nodes. This can present similarly to appendicitis and it may be difficult to distinguish between the two. Mesenteric adenitis is often seen following a viral upper respiratory tract infection and requires no treatment.
