About Ish

About me

I’m Ishraq Choudhury (Ish), the creator of The Medical Cookbook. I’m currently in my final year of medicine at the University of Manchester, with an interest in medical education, neurology, rheumatology, and immunology. I also have completed an MSc in Clinical Immunology and am an A-Level tutor.

Outside of medicine, I write and produce music, sing, and paint. You can find my music on all platforms, look for ‘Revenant’:

I started this project one of my friends jokingly called my notes ‘The Medical Cookbook’. Since then I’ve been rewriting and updating them, adding them to this site bit by bit. I’ve always enjoyed teaching, and started tutoring the moment I could after finishing my A-Levels. Although there are plenty of other resource out there, I hope that the ones we provide also help.

Accessible education for all

Another factor contributing to this site and my parallel project ‘The A-Level Cookbook’ was the frustration I had at the time of doing my A-Levels and throughout medical school. Seemingly everywhere I looked, people claimed it necessary to have bought this revision material or done that course, and people claiming to be in favour of widening participation also charged high prices for their courses, promising higher grades. I wanted to create resources that are, and will always be, free.
